Being a poet myself, I am extremely picky about poetry. Miriam's poetry knocked it out of the park. I have never read such beautiful, raw, visceral poetry. Miriam took the subject of physical frailty and limitations and gave us a peek at what it's really like to cope with those things, and how it hurts (not just physically) and how alone one might feel. People misunderstanding and judging you.Her imagery is amazing and complex and beautiful. I recommend this for anyone who wants a different perspective. And if you have physical limitations, like me, you'll find yourself appreciating Miriam's candor and bravery.
It is a very personal thing, and I give her credit for putting it out there. Well done. I will be reading more of Miriam's work in the future.

This book is amazing. Miriam Joy has a talent for evoking emotion through her beautiful poetry. Most of the poems in this collection are dark, but all are wonderful. Among my favorites are "Clockwork", "Armed", and the section entitled "Two Pages Before Midnight".
If you like powerful poetry, I highly recommend this collection.
This is an amazing collection. Without having read either of the author's other poetry collections, I enjoyed this beyond what I expected. I am not a poetry person in normal life, but these words are just beautiful. Read it.
